Second Annual Interprovincial Lodge

September 26, 2015

On the afternoon of Saturday, September 26, 2015, brethren from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island gathered at the Amherst Masonic Temple in Amherst, N.S. for the Second Annual Interprovincial Lodge meeting. The first meeting took place last year in N.B., hosted by the Westmorland Lodge #44 of Port Elgin. This year Alexandra Lodge #87 had the honour of being the host lodge.

The numbers attending this meeting slightly surpassed last year's number. There were 119 brothers present for this meeting.

Brothers from Nova Scotia = 63

Brothers from New Brunswick = 30

Brothers from Prince Edward Island = 26

The lodge was opened at 2:10 pm by the WM of Alexandra Lodge, W Bro. Larry Ross. After the opening the lodge immediately went to Refreshment so that the GMs could leave the room and then, once Labour was resumed, be officially welcomed to the lodge.

The three provinces were represented by their respective Grand Masters:

Presiding Grand Master of Nova Scotia

Most Worshipful, Grand Master:

MWBro. Peter Ponsford

Presiding Grand Master of New Brunswick

Most Worshipful, Grand Master:

MWBro. Clyde Townes

Presiding Grand Master of Prince Edward Island

Most Worshipful, Grand Master:

MWBro. Donald Leary

The meeting was a great success and everyone present felt it was a great way for the brothers from the three provinces to get together for fellowship.

The lodge which will host next year's meeting is Mt. Moriah Lodge #15 of Bedeque, PEI.

When the meeting ended at 5:10pm a parade was formed led by the Grand Piper of New Brunswick. The brothers then paraded the short distance to the First Baptist Church Hall where a delicious roast beef supper awaited.
